The Science Behind the System

Who is Tom House?

“Father of modern pitching mechanics” · “Professor of throwing”

Dr. Tom House pitched professionally for 12 years before developing a comprehensive, science-based methodology for training pitchers. Tom founded Tom House Sports, the National Pitching Association (NPA), and the Rod Dedeaux Research and Baseball Institute (RDRBI) to research and implement human movement, physical preparation, and training programs for pitchers and other rotational athletes.

Tom and the NPA have since helped thousands of pitchers, quarterbacks, and other rotational athletes achieve greater velocity, functional strength, and increased control while helping them reduce their risk of injury from poor mechanics and conditioning.

Learn More About Tom House

Steve has been hanging around with me since the late '90's, and was actually in the very first coaching certification I ever offered in 2001. In the best THS tradition, Steve is a perpetual student — both of the game, and of the effect it can and should have on players' lives. This has helped him to become one of our most motivated, knowledgeable, and experienced coaches. No matter your age or experience level, you can count on him to help you discover and bring out your very best in pitching, and in life.

Who is Coach Steve?

Tom House Sports — Mountain West Region Director

Steve has been a dedicated student of Tom's methods ever since the late 90's. He has specialized since 2001 in coaching applied biomechanics, conditioning, nutrition, mental/emotional management, and strategies & tactics for pitchers and baseball/softball players, and has since expanded the net to include quarterbacks and other throwers.

Steve is also an 8th degree black belt in the Chuck Norris System, and served formerly for many years as Director of Operations & Development for Chuck Norris' United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF.org).

Steve's ability to connect with players, parents, and coaches follows four decades of teaching youth and adults of all skill levels in pitching, throwing sports, and the martial arts.
